I have been using a cyberJack RFID reader for a few months without any major problems. However, after a recent Windows 11 update, the device sometimes disconnects randomly while in use. In some cases, reconnecting the USB cable helps, but the issue comes back later.
I already tried reinstalling the driver and changing the USB port, but the problem still appears. Has anyone experienced something similar after a Windows update? I would appreciate any advice or possible fixes.
I had the exact same issue with my cyberJack standard after the last Win 11 update. For me, it was the USB power saving feature. Windows turned it back on automatically during the update. I went into Device Manager, found the USB Root Hub properties, and unchecked "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power." It completely stopped the random disconnects.
If that doesn't work, definitely check the REINER SCT site for their latest driver update, as Microsoft messed up some smart card reader protocols recently.
Did turning off the USB power saving fix it for you? @coloriage
